The Series Boilerplate:

This is a cursed cache for First To Finders. A FTF for a cache in this series is cursed with the obligation to place another "Curse of the FTF" cache, extending the series.

Guidelines for the series:

1. The FTFer for this cache should place the next cache in the series (The Curse of the FTF #14) within 2 months. Otherwise the curse will prevent you from ever getting another FTF again!!! HAHA!!

2. You can only be a FTF for this series once. This is to give others a chance to be a FTFer.

3. Cache can be any type of cache (Puzzle, Multi, etc.)

The difficulty factor combines the puzzles with the hunt.

I should point out that this puzzle is homegrown and probably unique.

The fun begins with a cursed puzzle.
:o-)

Stage 1: Solve the cursed puzzle below. Use the coordinates to travel to the initial cross-reference micro cache site.

The cross-reference micro cache site coordinates can be found at:

N 82 128o 33 54 . 45 105 96
W 112 39o 14 65 . 75 22 86

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

Destination is anywhere from .02 miles to .13 miles from available parking, depending upon your transportation capabilities.
Such a maximum distance shouldn't be of concern to a geocacher considering this terrain level!

Take plenty of water and a few snacks. :)

Stage 2: Use the coordinates contained in the initial container to travel to the informational site to simply build ground zero's coordinates from the information provided in the area, as follows:

You have the 38o MM.DDD coordinates and 77o MM.DDD coordinates for the informational site above that were contained in the Stage 1 cache. You'll need to collect the following information from the informational site.

You'll need:

The four digit year of the event
The two digit day of the event
The two digit month of the event

To obtain the coordinates for the target micro cache containing the log, perform the following calculations:

N 38o
MMDDD
+the four digit year of the event+(the two digit month of the event*28)+(the two digit day of the event*18)+3.

W 77o
MMDDD
+the four digit year of the event+the two digit month of the event*24)+(the two digit day of the event*18)+4.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

BYOP!

Stage 3: Using the developed coordinates, travel to ground zero to find the micro cache for logging.
