This cache was originally placed as a leg in the Taft Light Pole Sprint that was held on Saturday October 18th, 2008. All contestants started at the KCC TB Road Race Start Line Event & Taft LP Sprint coordinates and then had to race around Taft to light pole themed caches.
There were 15 required caches placed with coordinate numbers to lead the contestants to the finish line. Five harder bonus caches were also placed without forewarning just to mix things up a bit. The first team back to the finish line with the most caches won! (note the finish line did not have a cache placed at it and was in fact simply at the same place the race started.
After a tough morning of some tough finds the winners were:
1st Place with 20 caches in 3:35 was geogrunt0311&geokat
2nd Place with 20 caches in 4:40 was Tall Grass Kids & Squidteeth
3rd Place with 18 caches in 3:30 was RogerMoellman and Family
4th Place with 17 caches in 3:15 was geogram1, audiotronic, & Rockin Rogers
5th Place with 15 caches in 3:15 was High Card Printing & bevan-r-us
6th Place with 15 caches in 4:30 was Ridgemaster & Palmsraised
7th Place with 6 caches in 3:00 was Bako1313 & treasurehuntinghomies
Most of these participants also had racers in the Kern County Cacher's 2008/2009 TB Road Race which ended February 6, 2009.
