About the Film:
PRETTY BABY, made in 1978, is French film-maker Louis Malle’s
first American film. Set around the time of WWI, this beautifully
shoot but disturbing film, tells the story of an arranged marriage
between a New Orleans prostitute’s 12- year old daughter played by
Brooke Sheilds and an older photographer played by Keith Carradine.
Sheild’s mother is played by Susan Sarandon.
