Geocache Description:

Cabot Rock is accessible from beach only and MUST NOT be accessed through private gate on road.

Cabot Rock is a Cache and Dash or why not take a leisurely stroll along this quiet part of the coast or a swim to Cabot Rock (If you are a strong swimmer and at your own risk) Great fun at high tide when one is able to jump from it!(take great care as some sides are shallower than others).
The cache may not be accessible on very high tides for an hour so.
At low tide the area presents many local rock pool delights including pipe fish and locally named cabots. A cabot has lived on the South side of Cabot Rock (just in front of the cache site) and has been caught and released by generations of children during summer holidays on the beach. Take care if venturing out to the low tide area as the sea here can advance as fast as a galloping horse and it would be easy to come cut off in one of the gullies and most rocks in the area are completely submerged at high tide.
In winter Brent Geese may be seen and locals of the parish wait for their migration to show that summer is on the way.
Parking is in the free public car park opposite the Jersey Round Tower at Le Hocq. This is the safest place to park to walk to the Cache.
The tower at Le Hocq is one of the defensive towers built around the coast to protect the island, which was loyal to the English throne, from French invasion. The design was modelled from a tower at Martello in Corsica, then adapted by Conway for Jersey. This cache is the first created by Jersey Mum and is the first in the summer holiday series.
