Geocache Description:

On a main hiking trail about 1/2 mile from a parking lot.

Don't bother looking for it. laurenmay13 left the cache in plain view and didn't even secure the waterproof lid. Since this has been happening frequently, after 12 years I have removed the cache. I didn't deactivate it because I wanted to leave a warning to selfish cachers to leave caches as they found them or the hobby can't continue. An ammo can containing a log book and pen. This location in in a wooded area but on a hiking trail. When you find the cache, you can look to the west and see the depression made by many wagons on the Union Ferry Branch of the Oregon Trail. The Oregon Trail split in Topeka with this branch continuing west to near Willard where the defunct town of Uniontown had a ferry. This branch joined the other Oregon Trail branch at Rossville. The trail can be traced from Fairlawn (Oregon Trail One cache) all of the way across the MacLennan Park and into the old Menninger property. The Kansas Wildlife and Parks will be placing historical markers this fall. PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHE AS YOU FOUND IT. There are many muggles passing by and if they see the cache, they will destroy it.
