Can You Hear the Crickets? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not logged into geocaching.com for some time I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,
DalesmanX

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache with room for a few swaps.

This has none of the meanness of my previous caches. It is a straight forward traditional with room for some swaps. There is a a "First to Find" badge for the lucky FTF'er to keep! Wow, aren't we kind!
The cache is located in the valley below Hart Hill and Cricket Hill (hence the name) between the A58 and A62 near Gildersome. This is a pleasant walk from the Hart Hill direction with some very nice views, but as the area has several springs, there can be some muddy patches even in summer. If you approach from the A62 Gelderd Road direction (there are two approaches from this side) be warned that the path to the east of the cache (north of Cricket Hill) is little used and can be overgrown and very muddy. I wouldn't recommend this as a lunchtime excursion in your best shoes!

You can combine this with an attempt on "Triggy Tricks" (GC1DQ56) and "The Old Mill Wall" (GC1DG3Q) for three very different caches not too far apart.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a branch in the path at N 53° 45.674 W 001° 37.575 just below the summit to the North-East of Hart Hill. Please do not take the branch to North-North-West that descends to the nearby farm outbuildings as this is private land with no public right of way.
