Lake Trafford is one of the last true wild places in southwest
Florida but it needs some love. The 3000+ alligators that live on
the lake have endured a great deal of littering of the years and
while restoration efforts have seen the lake's revival, there is
still work to be done.
This event will begin at 8:45 am. For the first 9 people that sign
up and wish to clean up along the lake shore, you will be
transported by airboat to the neediest of spots. For those that do
not wish to brave the lake but wish to help in the clean up, you
may join us for a clean up around the Lake Trafford Marina. Due to
the nature of this event and the abundance of alligators, only
adults will be permitted to go on the airboat and clean up the lake
shore.
This is a 5 star CITO for a reason. To get to certain areas, an
airboat is required and the shoreline can be muddy. Bring shoes or
boots you might not ever want to wear again! Gloves and trash bags
will be provided. Airboat transportation provided by the Lake
Trafford Marina.
Anyone wishing to hold a baby alligator will have the opportunity
to do so after the event with JunglePete . Cat Juggling
optional.
