This is one of my favorite places, the first time I saw the view here it took my breath away.
At the bottom of the hill lies what was once Camp Wiedemann, a 274-acre camp with a log house, office, infirmary, 5,000-square-foot lodge, directors quarters, junior Olympic pool and pool house, six camp sites with lodges and a 32-stall horse barn, horse riding arena and water tower.
The camp had for years been host to campers from the Girl Scouts of the Plains Council.
After the conclusion of resident camp in 2004 the Girl Scouts decided to sell it. The camp was sold at an auction for $670,000.
