Geocache Description:

This cache is situated near the far end of the Bethany Contemplative Trails, near a little pond (called a lake on the map), which is the kind of place you can just sit on the bench and think, write, draw etc.

This area is used by the Sisters at the local Bethany Motherhouse, but is open to the public, provided you abide by the rules located on the sign found at Trailhead 2 below. The trails themselves are for the most part, easy to follow, but in some spots are not as developed as others, so keep an eye on where you are going. Actually, as we were hiding the cache, we spotted some workers off in the distance enhancing the trails, and it looks like it is in much improved shape since I was here last year.

Stick to the trails and follow the signs and their recommended direction of travel (up around the loop trail) to get the most out of your hike. A picture of the sign is found below, so that you can get an idea of the trails before you go. In case gps signals are weak with the tree cover, the hint should help you to find the cache. Please ensure you replace cache the same way as when you found it. Also, this is an area of serenity and peacefulness, so respect that while out and about along your walk. There are lots of rest spots along the way, however there are no garbage bins, so be sure to CITO, that should go without saying anyways! I suggest you do this hike in the early morning hours, or whatever you prefer, you might also get lucky and spot some wildlife.

Original cache contents are:
Mini Red Rose collector’s teapot
Keychain
Wisdom Rock
Dooly’s Gift Certificate for the FTF
