Geocache Description:

1st Annual Camo Paint and Tape Techniques Event in Osceola

Have you ever wanted to do something more with that plain green ammo can and didn’t have any good ideas? Have you ever had a lock-n-lock that needed that little extra “somethin’-somethin” to say “Hey, I hid that one”? Or do you have that great peanut butter jar that is perfect for a cache container but the bright red lid would make it too easy of a find?

Then come join us at Osceola National Forest on Saturday, August 2nd, for the 1st Annual Camo Paint and Tape Techniques Event. The event will start at 10:00 am until whenever. There will be demonstrations and examples of various types of camouflaging – ranging from paint to tape to using the surrounding local ground cover. For those of you who are experienced in these areas, sharing your knowledge in the art of camouflaging containers would be a great way to help bring more to the hunt. (It would be great if you could bring along examples (if you can) to show off your handiwork!!)

There should be some different size containers and paint, etc. on hand for those who would like to try their hand at camouflaging. If you want to bring your own, that would BE GREAT, but if not, there should be some on hand to practice on. There will be prizes for the best camo jobs. Maybe, by the end of the day, Osceola will have a whole new group of caches for other cachers to find. They're just going to have to look a little harder!

There is shelter with tables and a play area nearby for the kids. This will keep them busy so the grown ups can play in paint. As with any event, there will be food, drink and merriment! Those attending are encouraged to bring baked goods and/or side dishes. Bring your travel bugs and coins to share and trade. After the event there are many caches nearby, both off road and urban, for your enjoyment.

Come on out and see what’s going ON (paint, tape, etc…hahaha!)
