Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Big Dipper series of caches. For more information see (GC1DW5H The Big Dipper - Alkaid).

This multicache is a series of two caches: first, Mizar, a camo'd ammo box just off the Blackfoot Trail in the Cooking Lake Blackfoot Recreation Area. In Mizar, you'll find the coords to Alcor, a small-ish camo'd lock 'n lock.

Mizar and Alcor

Mizar and AlcorMizar, meaning "waistband or girdle", is the star that is actually part of the Big Dipper, but just beside it is a close companion, Alcor, a name derived from "black horse". In fact, Arabs called the two stars the "horse and rider" and traditionally the ability to see Alcor beside Mizar has been a test for good eyesight.

Like the stars, the two caches in this multi are close together. You'll find swag in Mizar if you want to do some trading, but you'll need to find Alcor, which holds the log book, in order to log your find.

Have fun hiking the trails and finding the cache!
