This is a six stage multi cache located on and around Belle Isle and the James River Park system. The cache rating reflects the number of stages and the distance you will have to travel (3.1 miles) in order to complete this cache. Each stage will contain the coordinates to the next stage. Discretion is a must because this area experiences heavy traffic especially during the summer months.
The cache celebrates the 5000th find of one of central Virginia's most prolific and well-known cachers. He is a friend to many and a resource to all. He has done much to promote the sport and we are all VERY grateful.
Starting from the posted coordinates each stage will take you approximately(more or less in some cases) one kilometer. There are 6 total stages so you will travel 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles. Five kilometers equals 5000 meters so each meter you travel represents one find for the honored cacher.
NOTE - If you decide to mountain bike (we hear some people like to do that sort of thing) then be particularly careful during stage five which is a very narrow singletrack with significant rocks and a 20-30 foot drop-off on one side.
