Geocache Description:

Cache is located just uphill from a very old, sometimes invisible road. Park at n43.55.701 w103.29.277. Take the centennial trail, located just after you turn off the highway. When the trail meets the old 4x4 road turn right and circle around the base of Samelias Peak. When you are right below the cache it is about 500 feet as the crow flies. I am not a crow and it is a difficult climb, rocks, pine needles galore, and fallen trees.

Hardesty Peak cache requires some challenging bushwhacking and care should be taken in rainy and snowy conditions. I used to hunt here but I think that the geological processes that made these mountains must still be happening. I'm sure they must have at least doubled in size since I was a young pup. The cache is well stocked with good swag and trackables. Please, if you take a trackable, leave one. My cache on Samelias was cleaned out of trackables by one cacher, leaving no trackables in the cache. It's nice to go through a box of treasures, so leave some for future seekers.
