Geocache Description:

this cache was placed in memory of my father who exited this world fifteen years ago on this very date. it is located at a spot he would not have liked so much (he had a fear of heights), near a place he would have enjoyed a lot -- a golf course. in fact, his last moments were spent out on a golf course far away from here.

the cache was going to be placed under the big oak tree located nearby at N 38° 01.064 W 122° 40.100. it is a really nice spot providing shade and a good place to sit for a moment. however the entire area under the trees is covered in poison oak, so please be careful when venturing under the oaks.

the cache container is a large camo'd jelly bean jar, located 0.27 miles from the golf cart/walking trail bridge over nicasio valley road. it is located near the thorner ridge trail in the maurice thorner memorial open space preserve. the cache contents (as well as the container itself) represent a few things that were important to my father. fifteen years is a very long time...
