Located along the old National Road, this Union hospital was established in a large complex of buildings at the Clarysville Inn in March 1862 the second year of the Civil War. This area is another example of the Civil War history in Allegany County. The hospital served thousands of Union sick and wounded as well as some Confederates. The original inn burned completely to the ground in 1999.
Nano cache hidden in the area. The area is full of history from the civil war to the National Road. Beware of the muggles right next door to the cache.
