I have also heard it called Porter's Lake , Mud Lake and Mud Bottom Lake. Located off of the Richmond Road on the lake side of the road. This camo'd, small pill bottle contains some fishing stuff. My family immigrated to the Yarmouth area in April 1976 and moved into the "Purple Pig Farm" only a few hundred meters up the road just before Killams Lake. The house and barn (across the street) are now gone, victims of fire. I revisit the area often to visit relatives and friends. This cache is dedicated to the fond memories that I have of moving to this beautiful area when I was only 16. I spent my first Summer building fences, planting gardens, cutting firewood, haying, milking cows, feeding livestock and finally fishing. I loved it and it has stayed with me to this day as one of the finest times of my life. I caught my first Trout after moving here at the location of this cache on the otherside of the road.No doubt when you look you will be amazed that a ten inche brooky could be taken in such water...it was Spring. I had a walkie talkie with me and I dropped a worm below the culvert and watched it drift underneath the bushes and BAM! Within seconds I landed the brooky and radioed up the road to my parents. I continued fishing there and further down stream with no luck. In fact I never caught another trout in this brook again. I figure this one trout was there to welcome me to Canada. A great memory...please share your own.
Congrats to currymac with the FTF!
