Geocache Description:

The latest version of the LMCC will be held at Veteran's Park at 5 Wing Goose Bay with registration starting at 2PM

Veteran's Park, located on the Base at 5 Wing Goose Bay, was the scene of LMCC I in 2005. This year there will be a tent set up to keep away from the mosquitoes and black flies. There will be tables set up to display various cache containers. We are looking for cachers to bring innovative containers and hiding ideas. There will be prizes for all attendees.

With ArcticNomad & Avalanche and Volanges and Mr. Popcorn coming back from the Quebec 400 Mega-event with a bucket or two of coins and tags, there should be plenty left that have not been placed in caches before then. There will be a table where everyone can view TBs and coins for trading, discovering and grabbing. As usual, there will be a HUGE cache container loaded with goodies that everyone is free to take to get their own cache started.

There are 6 caches (now 9 with the placing of 3 more close by) within 1.1km of the site for those who would like to rack up their experience level. Plan on having a barbecue (BYOF - Bring Your Own Food) as there will be BBQ units available. The organizers will look after the condiments and drinks, and a few salads. There will be a nominal fee for the Event that can be paid on the day.

Please let the organizers know if you are planning to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet the other cachers in the area, be they old or new. Thanks to the efforts of Arctic Nomad & Avalanche, Dave & Meg, Volanges, Labrador Wild Man, VO2WW, Labrador Retriever and all the others who have been promoting our sport/hobby/habit/obsession over the past years, I know there must be at least 100 cachers in the Lake Melville area to look for the almost 230 caches. All ages are welcome and this will be a family-type gathering.

SO COME ON OUT AND ENJOY THE DAY. C U THERE.
