NO: Fisklausvatnet er et flott turmål for familien, og på tross av navnet er det godt fiske i vatnet! Turen går gjennom lett skrånende fjellbjørkeskog, og hvis man følger stien til enden av det lille neset er det en bålplass der. På sommeren er det også fint å ta seg en dukkert. Hvis været er av det hustrige slaget vil Statskog sitt båtskøt by på le for vinden.. Ved avtale kan man visstnok få lånt båten.
For å komme til parkeringskoordinatene tar man av fra E12 og kjører den gamle E12 mot Umskardet. Deretter følger man anleggsveien mot Gresvatnet ca. 8 km. Det tar ca 40 min. å gå opp til vatnet fra veien i vanlig voksen gangfart. Cachen er gjemt like før du kommer utpå neset, og boksen er festet med en krok og det ligger en stein over slik at den holdes på plass gjennom vinteren.
Inneholder FTFC og et griseflakslodd til første besøkende! Lukk boksen ordentlig og plasser og fest cachen slik du fant den.
ENG: Fisklausvatnet (English: "Fish-less lake") is a great hike for the whole family, and despite its name the lake has lots of fish. The hike has a slow ascent through low birch-wood, and if you follow the path out on the headland, there is a nice campfireplace by the shore. In the summer this makes a great place for a swim, but if the weather isn't playing nice, a small boatshed will lend you some shelter from the wind. This shed belongs to Statskog, which is the norwegian authority for managing Norwegian Wood :) and by further arrangement, the boat is available for loan or lease(?).
To get to the parking coordinates, you leave the E12 just north of the Umskardet tunnel, up the old E12 to the Umskardet pass and on to a private road towards the Gresvatnet lake, about 8km. From there you'll have approximately 40 minutes hike up to the Fisklausvatnet lake, at a normal "grown-up" pace. Find the cache secured by a string-hook, and a rock placed on top of it to keep it safe during winter.
Among the original contents are a FTFC and a lottery-ticket as a prize for the first visitor! Be sure to close the container properly and replace it like you found it.
