Moraine State Park - South Shore
Ready for a beach picnic? The coords will take you to parking for Pleasant Valley beach area at Moraine State Park South Shore. You'll be in-between the swimming area and playground. Hopefully, the picnic tables are still in the same spot right in front of the coords. Just look for a dark blue truck and a little white dog and you've found us geocachers. I'll also try and post some signs so you can find us with ease. It probably possible to get a wheelchair to our area. We'll be fairly close to the parking coords.
We'll start around 11am with our typical meet and greet. Eat around noon. Start the games around 1pm. So-what games can you expect?? Well, beach blanket bingo of course. You'll have to attend to find what this is! In addition, there will be a sandcastle building contest, beach relay race, and possible volleyball game. There's swimming (no lifeguard on duty-swim at your own risk), playground and hiking on nearby trails.
Food will be potluck, so please bring your favorite dish to share. There are no grills at this beach. Also, please bring chairs or beach towels, as picnic tables are scarce. You might want to bring items to build the most perfect sandcastle and other beach appropriate accessories. Contributions of prizes are greatly accepted!
Dogs are allowed on the grassy area but not on the beach. Owners must pick up after their dog and keep them under control. Same goes with kids!! This is a family friendly event. No alcoholic beverages are permitted in Moraine State Park. We're sure to have a fun in the sun beach party so hope you can attend! If anyone needs a park map or directions-email me.
got two cachers from BACON (Butler Area Cachers of Note) to volunteer for a game. if enough kids attend-will put kf4oox and purple_kv to work. they don't know what they signed up for yet...they'll find out on aug 16!!
