Geocache Description:


"In the early 1920's, African Americans Joseph Worly, Andrew Polk and Finn Wray, along with the community, city and county governments secured funds to build the "Mt. Pleasant Colored School." A Rohenwald facility, it was later named in honor of C. Y. Clarke who played a vital role in its establishment. In 1967, the school's name was changed to Clarke Elementary and High School and its last class to graduate was in 1969. The school closed due to racial desegregation."

Cache is not too terribly difficult to find but we do ask that you rehide it as closely as possible to the way you find it. Several trade items are in the container.
