On the top of the Montana Mercader (1.252 meters) you have a very great view over Southern El Hierro. I've hidden the cache 100 meters below the top because I couldn't find a good place on the last part of the walk.
You can take the way up that you prefer but if you want a really nice hike you can start near N27° 42.408 W018°00.560. Then go to N27° 42.786 W018°00.562. This is a kind of barranco that you have to follow.
At N27° 43.008 W18°00.773 you reach a road which you follow till the cache.
It looks that the regio suffers from forest fires. I hope the cache will survive the fire for a long time.
Please take a pencil with you because I have forgotten to place one in the box!
Because I live in Belgium I made an agreement with 45cesar who lives in Tenerife and visits regularly El Hierro to keep an eye on the cache.
