Geocache Description:

"Sabotage, Mr. Holmes. That's exactly what it is, I tell you. First it was the shoddy workmanship, and now this."

Colonel Nicholson's tale grew more bizarre by the minute. A decorated officer in the Royal Army, he and his battalion were captured in Burma by the Japanese Army. Their captors tried to force them all, officers included, into building a bridge linking Burma with Thailand, to the advantage of the Japanese forces.

"Initially, I refused. After all, the Geneva Convention clearly exempts officers from manual labour." explained the Colonel.

"After a few weeks in the hot box, I set off on an inspection of the bridge myself, and was shocked to find disorganization, shirking, and outright sabotage on the construction site. By my own men, mind you! So I took over the entire project, in a proper British way, and got the lads on the right track, so to speak. But heresay has reared its ugly head, Mr. Holmes. Word has it that our own forces are planning to blow up the bridge. Our own British bridge!"

"So what do you require of me, Colonel Nicholson?" inquired Holmes.

"Foil them, Mr. Holmes, foil them by any means possible." Colonel Nicholson then stood erect and headed for the door. "Well gentlemen, I must be off now. Duty calls. I'm expected back at the POW camp first thing in the morning."

"Surely you don't mean to journey back into captivity!" I interjected.

"Of course. The job must be completed!" What that, the Colonel disappeared into the jungle.

"Well Holmes, what do you think? He seems to be quite mad."

"On the contrary, my dear fellow. He's not mad, he's just so incredibly .....British!

"Quite. My word, Holmes, it's already 4:20. Are you ready for some Earl Grey, old chap?"

Co-ordinates were determined with a Garmin 60Cx with WAAS enabled, under ideal conditions, averaged over a three minute span, to an accuracy of 6.9 ft.

Props to BriarBoy for the cache title. Jolly good, old boy!

Enjoy!
