Location: The environs of Saffron Walden, Essex. You'll need to walk along a narrow footpath at the edge of fields - wellington boots are advised if it's wet. The views from the high vantage point of the cache site are of rolling fields (see picture). The cache itself is a round transparent tupperware container with a blue lid. Can any finders PLEASE take care to hide the cache well because otherwise it could easily be seen from the footpath.
How to get there: This is slightly more challenging. One approach is from the South West by car: drive along Newport Road into Saffron Walden and leave the car in the lay-by near the lowest-point dip in the road - or any other parking place you can find. The footpaths all around the fields go on for miles so there's plenty of opportunity for further walking. If you want further details, see the spoilers below. (Edited November 2001 to reduce the number of clues in the description.. I think it was TOO easy to find!)
Original contents of the cache include:
- Intro-letter, Log book and pencil
- Polished decorative stones
- Several new Toys for kids
- New pack of playing cards & Poker dice game set
- Matches, magnifying glass
- Another Collectible Norwegian picture telephone card
- Very old English stamps & various others
- Old and foreign coins
