Geocache Description:


Bridge No. L3040 south of Belle Plaine. Built in 1878, replaced in 2007.

This is an 8-part multi that will take you to several historic locations within Scott County. You will need to gather information from each location to get the coordinates for the final. There is a FIRST-TO-FIND prize waiting for someone.


The cache is an ammo can and should be easy to find once you get the coordinates.

This will take you on a tour of some of the best historical sites in Scott County. We hope you take the time to enjoy them and learn about them. For you history buffs, this should be a real treat.

The starting point is at the posted coordinates. Here you need to find two pieces of information: 1) the address number of the building in front of you (A)

and, 2) the address number of the nearby historic house directly to the north. (B)

Next, go to Stage 2 at N 44° 39.921 W 93° 37.571

This will take you to Jordan's historic district. Look around in Jordan's Old Town for a door that's hard to reach. What is the 3-digit number below this door? (C) (Hint: the sum of these numbers is 13.)

Now, go to Stage 3 at N 44° 39.811 W 93° 37.549

This will take you to the Jordan Brewery Ruins. Here you will need to locate the number in the transom. (D)

Stage 4 is your next stop. Here you'll find all that's left of the ghost town of St. Lawrence, Minnesota.

There is a small sign in front of the porch with two dates on it.
What is the top date? (E)

Nest stop, Stage 5 in Belle Plaine. Go to N 44° 37.468 W 93° 45.810

This will take you to the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration. Here you will find a large bronze sign. How many family were there at the peak? (F)

Stage 6 is another church, this time in New Prague, the Church of St. Wenceslaus.

What is the 4-digit number on the cornerstone? (G)

One more stop before the final: Stage 7. Go to N 44° 34.390 W 93° 21.113

This will take you to the New Market Hotel and Store. There are three brass numbers to the left of the door. What are they? (H)
