Drei kleine Schneckenarten (Quellenschnecke - Bythinella
parreissii - 0,8 mm lg.; 0,5 mm br.; und die beiden aus dem Tertiär
- 70 Mio bis 600 000 Jahre - überlebenden Arten:
Thermal-Schwimmschnecke - Theodoxus prevostianus - 5 mm lg.; 7 mm
br., ; Kronenschnecke - Fagotia acicularis audebartii - 15 mm hoch,
5 mm br.;) kommen nur in den Quellen und Abflüssen der
Thermalwässer von Bad Vöslau und Bad Fischau vor.
Diese Schneckenreservate sind die ersten und bisher einzigen
Schutzgebiete der Erde und ständiges Ziel zahlreicher Malakologen
(Weichtierforscher) aus aller Welt. Der Vöslauer Architekt DI Heinz
Gross errichtete das hölzerne Bauwerk als Denkmal für dieses
Weltunikat.

Three small types of snails only live in the sources and runs of
