Geocache Description:

Remarkably Hampshire and West Sussex are both oil producing counties. This on-going series hopes to show you the sites that are quietly contributing to the oil production of the world. The hazardous nature of the sites means close access isn’t always possible, but all the caches should be informative. There’s no clues to collect or bonus to find, but hopefully the series will grow as new sites are discovered.

Horndean 1A was discovered in 1983 . Last year (2007) Horndean produced more than 10,000 barrels. The above co-ordinates will lead you to the cache located at the entrance to the wellsite. There is NOT access to the site.

NOTE CHANGE OF CO-ORDINATES FROM 26/11/10

This should be a cache ‘ n ‘ dash. This cache is a 35 mm film pot containing a log book. Please leave the pot attached to the fence and only remove the lid.
