Geocache Description:

This cache was originally created by Waysters, now adopted by Orlando's Rat. Thank you, I hope I live up to your trust.

Remarkably Hampshire and West Sussex are both oil producing counties. This on-going series hopes to show you the sites that are quietly contributing to the oil production of the world. The hazardous nature of the sites means close access isn’t always possible, but all the caches should be informative. There are no clues to collect or bonus to find, but hopefully the series will grow as new sites are discovered.

Storrington 1 was discovered in 1986. At the time of discovery it produced both oil and gas. Storrington produced 9,511 barrels in 2007.

The above co-ordinates will lead you to the cache located at the entrance to the well-site. There is NO access to the site. However, there is a good view of the ‘nodding donkeys’.

This should be a cache ‘ n ’ dash. This cache is slightly larger than a 35mm film pot and contains a log book and pencil. The lane must be kept clear, but parking is available nearby at the Rugby Club.
