Geocache Description:

This cache is located around Abrams Falls near Bristol, VA. Take Exit 1 toward Gate City. Take Rich Valley Road (Route 700) to Abrams Falls Rd(Route 634). Follow Abrams Falls Rd to the Parking Coordinates near the trail head.

The trail you want to take will be on the left side of the creek. There is another trail across the creek that is wider but it will NOT take you down to the falls. The terrain will start out like any other but will get very narrow with steep drop offs creekside so be very careful and watch your footing. An alternate path would be to bring some old shoes or water shoes and just walk the creek. It will bring you to the top of the falls. Once there you can meet back up with the trail on your left and follow it to the bottom. The water in the creek when we were here was only about calf deep. It potentially could be deeper after a lot of rain so use your best judgement. This is a beautiful area and I was suprised to find it had no caches around. There are several smaller falls flowing in the creek on your way down that are stunning in their own right. Bring your Camera as you will want to remember this place.

Now for the cache... You will be searching for a regular sized ammo can containing a log, a pen, and loaded with lots of trade items. There is plenty of room for most Travel Bugs and Geocoins. The coordinates were taken with an 10ft accuracy so you should get real close. Please USE STEALTH when retrieving the cache so that its location will stay hidden. ALWAYS REHIDE THE CACHE BACK THE SAME AS OR BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT so that all geocachers can enjoy the hunt.
