A nice visit to a U.S. war memorial, and a small hidden cache to keep you looking. Not too difficult, but not on or near the memorial area. Please don't disturb the memorial, but do take a few minutes to read the plaques. Please be discrete in your search, especially during regular business hours.

The Kane County Veterans Memorial was conceived in 1997 to honor the men and women of this nation and Kane County who served in the United States Armed Forces. To detail and reflect on the sacrifices made by citizens of Kane County and to honor those county veterans who defended freedom with their lives in the 20 th century. The Veterans Memorial remembers and reflects on sacrifices made by Kane County soldier citizens but it is a memorial for all citizens of Kane County with educational and historical references as a reminder that we the people remember and cherish the legacy of freedom, justice, democracy and peace which Kane County veterans have defended.
The newly replaced cache is a small tube. It's in the exact same location as it's previous incarnation, but it shouldn't be too hard to find if you are in the right spot. Don't disrupt the monument to find it—it's a few feet away from the memorial. There is parking close at the county building, and fairly accessible to most everyone. There is a pencil in the container, a new signature sheet, room for some SMALL goodies to take and leave, and please make sure to replace the container the exact same way you found it.
