On a clear day you really can see Four States from this high point of the highway. Colorado, New mexico, Arizona, and of course Utah.
To the East is the mountain that resembles a sleeping Indian with full head dress (known at the Sleeping Ute Mountain) it is in the State of Colorado. A little further to the South but still in the East you can see Shiprock looking like a shark’s dorsal fin on the far horizon, Shiprock of course is in New Mexico. The Mountain to the south is in Arizona, and the country side around you and the twinkling lights of the city ahead are of course in Utah.
I placed this cache a place where as a child coming to Blanding I would get my first glimpse of the lights of Blanding letting me know that I was almost there. I still watch for the lights as I drive home and find comfort in the knowledge that I am almost home.
The cache is in a 10 inch length of 2" pvc pipe capped on both ends, look for the end (marked with an X) that is not glued on to open the cache. When replacing the end please don't push it beyond the edge of the paint so the next cacher can open it. It is filled with small treasures and log book, pencil and sharpener.
As this cache is placed along a busy Highway (191) some stealth is required.
