Geocache Description:

What a gorgeous area, even in the middle of Summer! Just think what it's like in the Spring, if we ever get any rain.

And a reminder: this is private land. We have permission to place the cache here, as long as folks treat the land well. Thank you!

While Jim of the team was out caching and dashing along the 58, he decided to drive up Shell Creek Road to get a cache a mile or two north of the highway. He'd never been on this road before, but was instantly taken by it It reminds him strongly of the Bitterwater and Parkfield Roads that run south and north, respectively, from highways 46/41 near Cholame. He had a container along with him, and was hoping to find a spot at the old windmill near the junction of the highway and the road, but couldn't find any place good enough to hide a medium-sized LokNLok box, so after finding EM-Six, he drove along the road, got out here and there, and finally found a nice spot, with lots of stuff to hide the cache, not that there's much traffic here! Now it waits for folks to come find it. It's less than 100 feet from parking to the cache (to avoid lots of stickers and star thistle, stay on the existing game trails!), is camo-painted on the lid, with a geocaching sticker, and clear-coated all around, to keep gnawing critters away (they hate the taste ). It has a logbook and pencil, a few gewgaws, and an unactivated geocoin for FTF, as well as a TB and a geocoin that need to keep traveling. Please be sure to completely hide it when you leave: thanks

BTW: if you continue up the road, it's all open, so take care for cattle: no fences!! And we've been very happy with the initial responses to this hide Seems like we got lucky to find a good placement that's protected but easy to get to and that people like to visit. Thanks, folks!

Hope you enjoy this lovely area! And maybe someone will figure out a nice micro or small to hide at that windmill a half-mile back down the road
