Lake Padden Park is a great park. It offers picnicking, swimming, fishing, hiking, dog off leash fenced area and off leash trails, horse trails, and much more. With multiple parking locations along the lake you are free to choose which suits you the best. Although if you bring horses you must park at the northern lot near the tennis courts. On the back side of the lake you can find the horse and the off leash trails.
While out walking my geo-dog Lucy around the lake one day we detoured from our normal route onto the horse trails for some off leash time. Walking along a trail we had never been on I came across this awesome, huge tree that had fallen across the trail but more than high enough to easily pass under. It has the appearance of a bridge, although I would not recommend using it as one. Stopping to check it out I thought this would be a great area to place a cache in. So today my daughter, Smoochy17 and I and of course with our geo-dog Lucy returned to do just that.
You are looking for a full sized ammo can filled with miscellaneous swag items. The signal here is quite jumpy so be prepared to search for a bit. There is absolutely NO bushwacking required. I had 25' to 35' of accuracy when I took my readings. I have upped the difficulty because of the signal or lack of in this area. If you should get a better reading please post it in your log.
Once you get to the huge old fallen tree (you will know it when you see it, you can not miss it!), a quick scramble up the lake side of the trail along an obvious path will bring you very close to GZ.
