A location where you can view the seldom seen falls at the end of Cascade Lake and other sights from a ridge near Mt. Tallac.
A very scenic location that affords one a vantage point to view not only the falls at Lake Cascade but also a view of the meadows below Mt. Tallac and along Spring Creek. Of course the bonus of seeing Fallen Leaf lake and Lake Tahoe should not be overlooked as well!
Access to this area is from a fire-break road just off Emerald Bay Road ( Hiway #89 ).
While your here you can also take the opportunity to hunt for "House Call-GC4PZD1", which is just off the fire-break road leading to the Trail Head to "Room with a View" which over looks Lake Cascade.
From the start of the trail-head entrance, the climb is close to 1000 ft. in elevation--be prepared and make sure you are physically able to make the climb and distance to the top of this ridge overlook! Not necessarily hard, but a slow steady climb in the thin air of this altitude. The trail is rather well defined and it's adviseable to stay with the trail all the way to the top of the ridge where it joins a trail coming up the other side of the ridge on the Lake Cascade side.
BE CAUTIOUS-PLAN and don't attempt alone, you are in a forest full of wild life, big and small.
Leave an itinerary of destination at your vehicle and/or let someone know your destination. It's also a good idea to start early so you can take your time and enjoy the views and the opportunity to explore the sights.
