Night cache placed in the state forest near the Vandermark Rd outside of Scio, NY
The cache is not at the listed coords. That is the starting point of your search. This is a typical night cache that follows reflective dots through the woods. There is some brush and fallen trees to cross. This may not be good terrain for small children.
Safety glasses may be a good idea as well as extra batteries and obviously a bright flash light. For best results with the reflectors hold the light near eye level.
Begin at the listed coords which are just off Bird Rd. in the state forest. Follow the YELLOW reflectors to the cache. Find one, walk to it and stop to look for the next one. It can be seen from that location, you may need to bend or move to the sides of the tree to see the next one. Continue that until you are at the cache. Watch your footing, some areas may be damp and there is some tall grass to deal with. If you come to a RED reflector you have gone the wrong way and must go back to the last location and try again. This is public hunting land so other people may have set up trails of there own, we have taken precautions to keep you on the right track.
The cache is highlighted with BLUE reflectors and is hidden in the usual fashion. Please put it back as found.
When you are finished you can follow the WHITE reflectors out to a slightly overgrown trail and follow it to the right(west). This will bring you back to the starting point If at any point you end up lost you can go west to get back to bird road or south should take you to the trail to go west. But you probably marked the spot you started from so you could follow the gps out also.
We figure that this should take you around 30 minutes to complete. It is not a terribly long walk. Do not try this during the day, only at night and wait fo it to get good and dark. Don't try to cheat and start before dark, the reflectors are easier to see the darker it is. Be extra careful during hunting season.
