About this
Cache... Mara Lake . . . The cache hid here is in a camoflaged lock
'n lock and has BC Parks coins for the FTF, 2TF and 5TF cachers, as
well as the logbook and great stash. It is hid near a small picnic
area close to the boat launch and there is a path nearby that leads
down to a small beach and picnic table on Mara Lake. Although
muggles don't seem to be a problem here, please rehide it as you
found it as it is very close to the maintained grass area and would
be easily seen.
Mara Provincial
Park is a small 5.9-hectare park situated on the eastern shores of
Mara Lake in the Shuswap region of the Thompson Okanagan. The park
is strictly a day-use area, but offers a variety of recreational
activities. Mara Lake also provides important habitat for
salmon.
The park has a
beautiful broad stretch of sandy beach and is popular for fishing,
swimming, boating, canoeing and picnicking. Mara Lake is very
popular for watersports and becomes very busy during the summer.
Due to the heavy boat traffic on Mara Lake near the park, swimmers
should remain in the designated swimming
area.
A paved boat
launch is provided, but no overnight mooring is
permitted.
Mara Provincial
Park is located 7.5 miles (12 km) south of Sicamous and 11 miles
(17 km) north of Enderby on the southeast side of Mara Lake. Access
to the park is off Highway
97A. |
