Geocache Description:

Willacoochee was chartered in 1889 and was the first town in what later became Atkinson County. Its initial town limits were established as one-half mile each way from the Brunswick and Western Railroad depot. Today the town has approximately 1500 residents and a total area of 3.8 square miles.

Willacoochee is an Indian name believed to mean "Home of the Wildcat". With the Alapaha River to the south and the Willacoochee River to the west, the area has always been a prime area for hunting and fishing.

Please be stealthy when muggles are present.
