This cache is located in a neighborhood park on the near northside
of Springfield. Park is open until 10:30pm. Please don't forget to
bring a writing utensil. This cache was placed to fulfill my
requirement to log my find ""PIF" Confederate Forgotten" GC16BPH.
This is similar to One Degree of Separation.
My first cache is named in honor of my good friend and caching buddy, GA Cacher. This is a friendship that clicked right from the start. We had many caching excursions that included several landmark trips. One such trip started about 5:30 am on a Saturday morning and concluded around 1 am Sunday morning. This trip included my 500th find, 17 pages completed on the GA Delorme Challenge, 3 FTF's and around 900 miles, in one day. Another landmark was our trip to Choo-Choo town for my biggest single day of finds with 58. Chaucerbosser(another good Georgia friend) was with us on that trip.
He helped me to learn about "paperless" caching, from which my caching experience has made a drastic upward swing. There were phone calls at 10:30pm to go out and try to grab an FTF. He is a great ambassador to the sport, willing to take time to explain the sport to muggles that show interest, help newcomers to the sport by answering questions and explaining how it all works, etc.
As you can tell, I think alot of this man. I consider it a real privilege to call him my friend. So Tom(that's his real name) this cache is placed in your honor. Thanks for all you do for this sport and more so, for being my friend.
Springfield is sorely lacking in quick-to-find or fairly easy caches. This park seemed like a logical place for a quick one. There is easy parking, easy access and easy terrain. I placed the difficulty rating at a 2 as it might be a little difficult to not be spotted while grabbing the cache. Please use your "stealth cloak" while there and replace the cache as found. It should not be easy to spot for muggles walking by, but those searching should have no problem locating the hidey spot. Anyone wanting a little
challenge, feel free to search at night(before the park closes, naturally). Hope you enjoy!
FTF Honors goes to "pengyou". Congrats!
10.07.10 Container is now a green camo taped Altoids tin.
