This is my first ever cache and can easily be done in under 5
mins
"Black poplar (Populus nigra) is a
species of poplar in the cottonwood (Aegiros) section of the genus
Populus, native to Europe, southwest and central Asia, and
northwest Africa."
"It is a medium-sized to large deciduous tree, reaching 20-30 m
(rarely 40 m) tall, with a trunk up to 1.5 m diameter. The leaves
are diamond-shaped to triangular, 5-8 cm long and 6-8 cm broad,
green on both surfaces. The species is dioecious (male and female
flowers on different plants), with flowers in catkins and
pollination by wind."
Mursley is home to the oldest and rarest native tree in Great
Britain. This cache is situated near to the 150-200 year old Black
Poplar. The Cache container is a 650ml tesco foodsaver. It will
hold the average travel bug or a few coins. Please hide it well,
where you found it
When the cache was placed it contained; A log book, IKEA pencil,
stash note, bouncing frog toy, USB led light and a Cache cam to
take your picture with Great Britain's oldest and rarest native
tree! - experiment *do not take a picture if you do not want it to
be displayed on geocaching, com. Also please log the exposure number
if you use the cam so I can identify you!*
While in the area you could find Simply Pauls Chess themed
geocache No.9 which could take a while. Or if your short on time
then Battleship B3 can be done as a cache 'n' dash.
Parking is available on the corner at N 51 57.071 W 0
48.083 The location itself is wheelchair accessible but
the cache is not. I have made this a 3 star terrain because the
field can turn to quicksand after heavy
rain
