Menominee County does not currently have a lot of caches, so we
thought it would be fun to create a series of caches to bring
people to a bunch of places within the county that may have not
been seen by most geocachers and travelers before and to place a
few new caches. To that end we have placed at least one cache in
each of the 14 townships of the county as well as a few other
municipalities. We tried to take you off the beaten path a little
bit with this series, we hope that you enjoy hunting these caches
as much as we enjoyed placing them.
Nadeau Township
Nadeau township has an area of 80.8 square miles and had a 2000
population of 1,160. Its largest town is Carney, which is located
just south of the village of Nadeau. This township is part of the
Carney-Nadeau School District.
This cache is located in a very old cemetery that I stumbled
across while playing in a slow pitch tournament in town. Most of
this series will lead you to places a bit off of the highway, but I
could not resist putting a cache out in this very neat cemetery.
While we were hiding the cache, the nearby church was playing music
through its bell tower, we thought that was pretty neat. The cache
is a small lock 'n' lock container. We have included coordinates to
the entrance to the cemetery.
This cache is part of the Menominee County Challenge (MCC)
series. Please be sure to note the letter on the inside of the
cache lid, as you will need this letter to come up with the
coordinates for the final cache.
