Have you ever wondered what happened to your favorite ski area?
Why did it close? What was the history behind it? Ever driven by a
closed ski area and wondered what it was, its legacy?
The New England Lost Ski Area Project has gathered much of the
information for many lost ski areas. I have done some leg-work to
help share some of the lost ski areas with fellow skiers and
non-skiers alike. Make your way to the geocaches from this series
to find out more information about them. If you have pictures from
the past or more information about this or any other cache in this
series, then please share it. All finals for this series are ammo
cans.
Berkshire Snow Basin
I had not planned on using this former area as one of the ones
in a series but when I came across in on GoogleEarth it was just
meant to be! This means a lot to me especially since there are two
caches that area really close to this area that did not even take
notice of this former piece of history!
Let’s go ski into the past! Click on these links to find a
defunct slope near you!
