Geocache Description:

A 2-part multi, Way Point 1 has a film cannister hidden at ground level, visible from 0m with co-ords for the final - a 180ml Lock'n'Lock container also at ground level, visible 1m if on the right angle. Terrain would increase in difficulty after heavy rain.

The real prize here is the stunning views to Stewart Island, and the Mataura Valley. Not worth doing on a day with revolting weather or in the dark.

Park at S46 03.912 E 168 52.816, and as you are climbing to 513m take a jacket. Free hint: don't take the 4WD track. Enjoy a picnic afternoon tea whilst soaking up the view, before heading to the final co-ords. We had kids up here at the age of 7 quite happily - and a fit 6 year old would probably still enjoy it. There is a quite steep climb at the very top. Only needs moderate fitness. Stay on the obvious track until you reach waypoint 1, then work it out! WP1 is the hardest part, so in case you do the final in low light or with tired, scratchy kids, I have marked it with a set of reflective 'eyes'.

This was designed to re-release Stegan's "Catch Me If You Can" Jeep T.B, and was almost named "Stegan's Folly." The folly bit you will work out...
