Geocache Description:

Located just off Secondary Highway 879. Average size lock and lock, camo taped. No bushwhacking required. Recommend not driving right up to cache site.

The first bridge across the South Saskatchewan River is just to the west of the Cache. Bridge was built in the late1960's. The old ferry crossing landings are visable just east of the cache and across the river. ( thank's ELF43) The South Saskatchewan begins it's journey as a river aprrox. 15 miles to the west where the Bow and the Oldman Rivers meet. This bridge is the only way across between Taber and Medicine Hat. A popular fishing spot for the local residents, this is an awesome spot to see Gray Catbirds in season as they nest every 30 yrds or so along the river thickets. Can be a very quiet peaceful retreat and I spent many a day exploring here as a resident of Bow Island. Cache contains the usual swag.

Note...I had a hard time seeing it after I placed it...it blends in that well in the summer.

When I placed this one I thought it might be incorporated into a nice country drive with 0011 bravo's hidden oasis cache as Hiway 524 is just to the north of here. That and there are not a whole lot a cache opportunities on the Crowsnest Highway ( # 3) between Taber and Medicine Hat.
