Temperature inversion often occurs in the area as the radiation received from the Sun is likely to reach only the higher slopes and peaks but not valleys. Some local topographical features can intensify the development of temperature inversions such as valleys or the exposure of slopes. According to the temperature inversion the flora can be found in a reverse order, the beech trees dwell in valleys and the oaks at higher areas. Normally oaks are located below 600 metres of altitude and beech trees can be found usually above 600 metres. The temperature inversion explains why the reverse order is present. Moreover the inversion commonly occurs at wintertime when the angle of the radiation is low enough not to reach the valleys.
