Are you "up" on your Maryland History Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dr.MD: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email) within 90 days, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Hidden on private property with permission from the owners. Nothing to worry about. I've placed this cache about .4 miles off Rt 15 (easy on and off for both northbound and southbound travelers) adjacent to a part of Frederick County and Maryland history. If your just passing through you'll want to bring your camera and take a couple of scenic photos. At the entrance to the north you'll be able to review the history of this location. Unfortunately someone took the one leading south.

Please park at these coordinates N39' 38.472 W77' 23.632 for a quick picture. You are only a short stroll to the cache from here. The actual cache is hidden at the above coordinates. This cache is a modified plastic gallon pail. This one is loaded with something for everyone. Due to its location my intentions are to use this one to help TB's/Hitchikers and GC's along their way. Gettysburg is about 25 minutes to the North and Washington D.C is about 75 miles to the south. If you ever plan on passing through the little town of Thurmont and the Home of "Camp David" take a minute to stop by and visit. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU "SECURE" THE CACHE THE SAME WAY IT WAS FOUND. Please look at the illustration in the photo gallery to learn how to tie a slip knot.
CONGRATULATIONS GO TO "BIGDOGSRULE" FOR THE FTF. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
