This cache is for the people that like hiking in the forest and
appreciate a magnificent view for their troubles. The start of the
track can be located from the road verge on the northern side of
the Kennedy Highway at the double lane section on the crest of the
range. Park your vehicle here S16 49.841 E145 40.042.
Please exercise extreme caution crossing the road as vehicles
appear without warning. The first 100m of the track climbs close to
the road and has several Wait-A-While tangles to negotiate so
carrying a machete may be of some help. Once through the tangles
the track becomes more open and is marked by red and pink flagging
tape. Approx 30mins of climbing will bring you to an old survey
clearing at Crupper peak where trees obscure the views of the
coast. A further 30-40 mins brings you to a small outcrop of rock
from which you will get your view reward.
PLEASE TAKE CARE TO ONLY STAND ON THE ROCKS.
From this look out you will get perfect GPS reception to confirm
you are close to the cache. Search for the only large Fig tree
nearby, for that is where the cache is hidden. Thanks to Mike FNQ
for helping place this cache.
