Geocache Description:

A small cache with a log and a few small items for trade (think small if you want to bring something for trade) near a unique memorial.

The following is reprinted from Henry King's excellent book, "Tarheel Tombstones and the Tales They Tell":

Wong Bow's Epitaph is written in Chinese.
Born in 1882, Wong was shot to death in his laundry in Wadesboro in Anson County on April 23, 1927. He was well liked by the townspeople, and his death, the details of which are now lost, shocked the small town.
Wong's grave is in the town cemetery bounded by Brent, Eastview and Lilesville Streets, just inside the Brent Street entrance. His gravestone is one of a very few in North Carolina engraved with chinese characters. Translated, the stone reads;
Died 1927, April 23.
Gravestone of Wong Bow
Canton State
White Mountain City
Oceanside
East County.

As always, treat this area and its inhabitants with the respect that it (and they) deserves.
