A monument to times past
Near the cache location is a monument to a road that was a major feature of the West from 1926 to 1938. In 1938 the route was changed, making this section unimportant. With the building of the very nearby interstate, the road became almost irrelevant, at least to long distance travelers. I look on this monument as an unofficial memorial to a departed part of history.
