A Diggers Tale
Do not go to the above coordinates - They are BOGUS!!
Many years ago my distant ancestors came out to Australia in search of gold. The two brothers Tom and William made their way from North Yorkshire to the Forest Creek diggings near Chewton in central Victoria.
They were among the lucky ones who struck it rich and while one brother guarded the claim the other rode his horse to Bendigo to register the claim.
With the proceeds of this gold the brothers were able to buy a number of large landholdings in Pipers Creek, east of Kyneton.
Gambling and the wasteful ways of future generations have seen those holdings reduced today to just the 250 acre Rosebery Hill property where cache seekers may find GC1AYYJ Rosebery Hill
The following tale contains excerpts from their diaries and all the information required to locate the cache is found within the story.
Please ensure that you avail yourself of Evince before heading out to seek your fortune. Many people have returned from this area empty handed in years past.
The cache is a 1.2litre painted plastic container with logbook and small swaps only. Be careful near GZ as there are abandoned mines in this area, as you would expect.
