Just off the Old River Road...two steps into the forest to view natures Awesome majesty.
This cache is resting between creeks that flow into the north Fork of the CDA River. When stepping off the road into the forest one is struck with the awesome beauty of the forest. This area truly is a natural cathedral.
However, this area poses some very real challenges and one should not attempt this cache alone. The forest floor is re-pleat with dead-fall that presents a "false" floor. Many times while climbing this area my walking stick sank six inches or more. So watch your footing!
We came across on old lean-to shelter that looks to have not been used for awhile. The construction of the shelter is worth stopping and taking a look at.
Spend some time as you climb stopping and listening to the forest in this area. While there we saw bats, deer and many many varieties of birds.
This cache contains pins, a log book, travel bugs, a golden dollar and FTF pin for the FTF.
