This is my first cache, nice and easy to access, to locate, and to maintain. It is set up with the knowledge and permission of the site authorities. They are expecting to see cache searchers in the vicinity, and that is OK.
Parking during the week is probably easiest across the road, near the big sports arena, at about
S39 32.826, E176 50.539.

At weekends there is usually plenty of parking very near the cache. Sometimes you may have to pay 10 cents per hour into a ticket machine to park near the cache.
I worked at this establishment for many years from its beginning in 1975, helping to train Apprentice Builders. At that time we had a series of exercises on the hillside, in which students used a range of types of Builders Levels to determine the height of ground at various points around a simulated building site. Although this site is no longer used for leveling exercises, the Evidence Is There still, in the form of small concrete pads on the hillside.
